This Privacy Policy describes how Northvane LLC (“Northvane,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with BuildEngine and our other brands (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account & contact info: name, email, country of residence (when provided by you).
- Payment info: handled directly by Stripe. Northvane does not store full card numbers.
- Product input: business idea descriptions, contact form messages, and other content you submit.
- Usage data: pages visited, referrer, IP address, device type, browser, and timestamps. Used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
- Cookies: session and analytics cookies. See Cookies below.
2. How we use information
- To deliver the products you purchased, including AI-generated reports.
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmations, report delivery, subscription renewals, refunds).
- To send marketing emails (newsletter, product launches) when you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- For security, fraud prevention, debugging, and aggregate product analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party processors
We share information with the following processors as needed to operate the Service:
- Stripe - payment processing.
- Anthropic - Claude API for AI synthesis. Customer ideas submitted to the Idea Validator are processed by Anthropic to generate the report. Per Anthropic’s API terms, customer inputs are not used to train models.
- Resend - transactional and (opt-in) marketing email delivery.
- Supabase - database and storage hosting.
- Vercel - application hosting.
- Cloudflare - DNS and edge security.
- PostHog - privacy-respecting product analytics.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@buildengine.tech. We respond within 30 days.
5. Cookies
We use a small set of cookies (session, CSRF, and analytics). You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service (such as authenticated dashboards in future phases) will not work without them.
6. Data retention
Order records are retained for at least 7 years for tax and audit purposes. Customer inputs (idea descriptions, contact form messages) are retained as long as needed to operate the Service and respond to requests, then deleted on a rolling basis.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States. By using the Service from outside the US, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the US and the jurisdictions of our processors.
8. Changes
Material changes to this Policy will be announced on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
